Credit Controller

We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our growing business.

The Credit Controller is a major contributor to liquidity, cash flow and working capital requirements of a business. Payments received on time keep the business cycle flowing and make it possible for a business to meet operational and short-term debt obligations and payments to Property Owners.

If you’re a strong communicator, with a credit control background in property management, self-motivated and if not so already, willing to work towards IAB/ACCA/CIMA qualification, please read on.

You would be responsible for:

  • Ownership of owners/tenant accounts, including Trusts and the collection of outstanding service charges and rents due from owners/tenants within a specified due date
  • Monitor arrears
  • Follow stage by stage process letters to either settlement of monies or enforcing debt collection/litigation action for any owner/tenant arrears
  • Strict monitoring of all owner/tenant payment plans to ensure they are committing to their Lease Agreement or Association Terms & Conditions or a payment plan
  • To attain a strong and confident approach when dealing with stakeholders and clients face-to-face and with telephone calls and queries regarding rent/service charge arrears and negotiation of settlement of such arrears
  • Meet with key stakeholders and clients to present arrears and collection performance
  • Ensure processes are strictly followed and fully complied with
  • Build strong tenant relations, resolve tenant queries promptly and accurately, record all correspondence
  • Liaise with the Associate Director, Accounts Team, Property Chartered Surveyors, Client Accounts and Property Managers, as appropriate
  • To report to each Property Manager on a monthly basis to advise on current arrears
  • Compile a monthly Aged Debt and collection report, using the Re-Leased system
  • Must have competent experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook - the ability to use Excel for spreadsheets is essential
  • Understand client behaviour to maximise and improve collection methods
  • To carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by your Manager as and when required
  • As and when required, with ‘buddy’ cover with other Credit Controller
  • Ideally hold previous property management credit control background with similar synergistic skills
  • Ability to work on self-initiative and good inter personal skills are essential
  • Not essential but ideally working towards professional qualification such as IAB/ AAT/ACCA / CIMA
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
